The Post-First Day of School Fun

We went to lunch and then off to the zoo (amusement side). Both kids had a great time and Kalan rode his first roller coaster and LOVED it!

Preschool (2nd year) First Day

Kalan started his new preschool today. He had a great day and continues to be SO excited about school.

He is modeling his fireman outfit (he likes to be very official), he had his friend Lilly over (we babysat so her parents could go out)....looks more like a date night on the couch and he is driving her around too!!!

We were lucky enough to have Papa come out and finish our basement. It is still in need of "finishing" touches (paint, carpet), but we LOVE it! We just had to guarantee hugs and kisses from K&K.

Summer Fun

Rocket Man

As the "Summer of Dads Promises" continues...we HAD to build a rocket and send it into the air. Kalan did not have to twist my arm to get me to do this however. We had two launches...which means the first time we shot the rocket off we found...the second...we did not. We are now in the market for a new rocket!

Camping

A while back when I told Kalan I would take him camping he was soooo excited....and never forgot that promise. This past Fathers Day Lisa and the kids got me a tent. Kalan promptly insisted we go camping ASAP. We did...in the backyard. It was a lot of fun and we made it the whole night. We will definately get to do it a few more times this summer.

Time With Grandpa (Kalan and Kaia's Great Grandpa)

So this last weekend Lisa was off to Colorado with the kids to spend time with her parents, brother, Aunt, and Grandpa. Amazingly (and fortunately for all those that meet him) grandpa at 97 made the trip to Colorado and got to spend time with the family. This was his first time meeting Kaia and she was very generous with her patented "lean in and hug" then walk away. They went to the car races, dinosaur museum, and plenty of building with Uncle Bobby.

This really has been a great summer thus far. We have all been very fortunate to get time with family and friends....and there is even more to come.
